Dental Implants

Dental implants replace the root of the tooth and have many advantages over older treatments. They look and feel real, are comfortable, make eating and talking easier, are durable, and much more. Dental implants are metal anchors, made of commercially pure titanium, that are placed into the jawbone to hold crowns, bridges and dentures. Dental implants are tremendously strong because the jawbone actually attaches to the implant over time in a process called osseointegration. The benefits of Dental implants include increased strength, comfort and longevity, conservation of tooth structure and increased self confidence.

Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth removal is a very common procedure. Often there is not enough space at the rear of the jaws for the wisdom teeth to come through, in which case the wisdom teeth become impacted. The problems that this can cause are gum infection, decay, ulcers, pain, crowding, cysts and erosion of the neighboring molar. The best time to have wisdom teeth removed is after the age of 18 and before any of these problems begin. Intravenous sedation is recommeded for the removal of impacted wisdom teeth.
